• Describe the relationship between the educational strategy or innovation and its theoretical or conceptual foundation (if a description of a strategy or innovation)
• Report well-designed studies (if research), with the theoretical or conceptual base evident in the design
• Report research studies that add to nursing education knowledge and do not simply replicate, in a different setting, what is already known through a substantial body of evidence
• Present logical organization and reasonable critique of literature with conclusions appropriate for either a critical or integrative literature review (if a literature review)
• Include current references and accurate citations
• Conform to accepted usage of the English language. If English is not your first language, please have it reviewed by a native English speaker
• Contribute meaningfully to the evidence or theory base of nursing education
• Before submitting your article please get familiar with our copyright agreement
• Our repository policy allows you to distribute 30 PDF copies of your published article to colleagues (the PDF has to include the information that it is an author's copy). • For every submission, authors have to fill out and upload the Template for Ethical and Legal Declarations at the time of the original submission. Instructions on how to make declarations can be found here.
• The Ethics Statements for our journal are based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
• International Journal of Nursing Education Scholarship follows Tier 2 of our Data Sharing Policy. Authors are encouraged to provide a data availability statement. Please refer to the Data Sharing Policy for guidance on how to write a data availability statement.　
• As per De Gruyter policy, no author list changes are permitted after acceptance of an article. The De Gruyter production team is instructed to enforce this policy during the production/proofing process.

Hybrid Open Access
If your manuscript is accepted, you have the option to publish your article under an Open Access license. Open Access allows you as an author to retain copyright and share your findings with colleagues and interested parties worldwide without any restraints. Authors choosing to publish Open Access pay an article processing charge. All articles undergo peer review and will be accepted for publication based on the quality of their scientific contribution. Choosing Open Access publication has no influence on the peer review or acceptance process. Please note that authors from institutions with which we have a transformative agreement can publish Open Access without paying an article processing charge (APC).
