Über diese Zeitschrift

The International Journal of Materials Research (IJMR) publishes original, experimental and theoretical papers on basic and applied research in the field of materials science and engineering, with a focus on synthesis, processing, constitution and properties of all classes of materials, including hybrid and biomaterials. Comprehensive reviews are also welcome. Particular emphasis is placed on a scientific understanding of the microstructure–property relationship. Thus, experimental or computational studies on thermodynamics and kinetics as well as knowledge-based materials design are of primary interest. Contributions may also focus on progress in advanced characterization techniques.

All papers are peer-reviewed.

Complete Archive Access

Submission

Submit manuscripts exclusively online at

https://www.editorialmanager.com/ijmr/default.aspx

You will be guided through the whole submission process.

Before preparing a manuscript, please read the journal’s Instructions for Authors carefully and have a look at our Ethical Guidelines.

The Template for Ethical and Legal Declarations is required for submission (this needs to be customized by the submitting author on behalf of all others and uploaded as a separate doc-file at the time of the original submission).

Please adhere to the journal’s Data Sharing Policy: We encourage authors to provide a data availability statement. Please refer to the Data Sharing Policy for guidance on how to write a data availability statement.

Peer review

IJMR is a single-anonymized journal. Manuscripts which fulfill the substantive and formal criteria are reviewed anonymously by at least two independent reviewers selected by the Editors (for Short Communications at least one independent reviewer). During submission, the authors must provide the names, institution, academic position within this institution, country and email addresses of at least three potential high-profile researchers as reviewers. Only one of these three proposed referees may have an affiliation in the same country and/or the same nationality as the authors (specific reasons must be provided for every suggestion as well as the suggested reviewer’s entry on their institutional webpage). Authors may also provide names of reviewers they wish to exclude from reviewing their manuscripts.

When an article is accepted after peer review, the manuscript undergoes language and style copyediting. Fully accepted articles (after copyediting!) will usually be published online within 4–6 weeks of acceptance as a DOI-citable, forward-linked article for quickest possible visibility for the scientific community.
