Objective
Articles published in the Florida Entomologist are open access and reflect all aspects of basic and applied entomological and acarological science of relevance to Florida agriculture, urban environments, and natural resources. Research from the southeastern U.S., the Caribbean region, and Mexico is particularly invited as these areas are important sources of invasive species in Florida.
Florida Entomologist —"An International Journal for the Americas"— is the official journal of the Florida Entomological Society (FES) and is published Open Access.

History
Florida Entomologist is the official journal of the Florida Entomological Society (FES), archive from vol. 1 (1920) to vol. 106 (2023) are available at the link.
2024 - The journal published its 107th volume with a new publisher, De Gruyter.
2001 - An obligatory Immediate Free Web Access (IFWA) for all accepted articles was implemented.
1998 - Following a successful pilot project in 1997, the Society raised the funds required to scan and index all back issues for online publication.
1993 - The Florida Entomological Society initiated its electronic publication project, start with the release of the September 1994 issue (vol. 77, no. 3) available online.
1922 - The journal changed its name to "Florida Entomologist" and released its first issue (vol. 4, no. 1).
1917 - The first issue of "The Florida Buggist" was released - official journal of the FES.
1916 - The Florida Entomological Society (FES) was established.
