[1] stellt fest, dass der Begriff Industrie 4.0, auch wenn er bereits umfassend als Marketingbegriff missbraucht wird, keine Technologie, kein Produkt und keine Dienstleitung benennt, die man kaufen kann. Es ist eher ein Konzept bzw. eine Vision für die Weiterentwicklung der deutschen Industrie. Dass die Industrie 4.0 insbesondere (aber nicht ausschließlich) ein Themenfeld für die Automatisierungstechnik ist, ist unumstritten. Doch wohin entwickelt sich die Vision Industrie 4.0 und wie und in welcher Reihenfolge müssen Unternehmen aktiv werden, um dieser Vision zu folgen. Hier herrscht auch nach vielen Jahren Forschung, immer noch Unklarheit. Der vorliegende Beitrag versucht, hier ein wenig Licht ins Dunkel zu bringen.

A particular challenge in the development of highly-automated driving functions is the validation of these systems. A possible approach to cope with the validation effort is the use of simulations. Thereby, simulators can be used in various aspects of the validation process. For a meaningful application of simulators, individual aspects of reality are replaced by models. Based on an analysis of the different use cases, the various driver models from the state-of-art will be examined in this article with regard to their conceptual suitability for safeguarding highly automated driving functions.

The modularization of process plants and their modular automation represent innovative concepts to meet the increasing demands for flexibility in plant operation. However, existing approaches to support the engineering of such plants do not focus on the early phases of requirements elicitation and concept design, although these early phases are crucial for the economic efficiency of the later plant. This paper presents a process model for the formalized description of intentions in the early engineering phases of modular process plants. The plant operator creates a formalized model of his intentions and submits it to the module manufacturers in a suitably modularized form. Thus, in the engineering phases, a reduction of effort and an increase in support in the planning and development of the plants are achieved. Furthermore, purpose-specific, required automation functionalities can be defined at an early stage.

Providing data for data analysis projects is one core task of automation technology, however, it still has to be done with a lot of manual effort. One challenge is to keep the meaning of data remain interpretable within or across multiple software environments so that provider and user of data share a common understanding of the transferred data. It is acknowledged that machine interpretable metadata is one crucial building block for reaching this goal. However, in industrial automation and information systems today, exporting and utilizing data coupled with metadata is still not a common practice. Therefore, we propose a general concept for extracting metadata and utilizing it in data analytics applications, which may help with system design in the future. The concept is prototypically implemented regarding the structural metadata for tabular data.

GRAFCET is a graphical means for formal specifications in industrial control design. In order to use these formal specifications for model-driven development of control code, it is beneficial to ensure syntactic correctness and verify the model. This paper presents a detailed meta-model for GRAFCET that includes logical and arithmetic expressions in conditions and assignments. The meta-model and additional invariants allow for creation of syntactically correct Grafcets. On this basis, a translation of GRAFCET into Guarded Action Language (GAL) is presented. The resulting transition systems in GAL allow a semantic analysis of GRAFCET by means of model checking. From these GRAFCET specifications, specification-compliant PLC code can be generated automatically.

Zusammenfassung Aufgrund aktueller Transformationsprozesse kommt der automatisierten und ressourceneffizienten Fertigung hochfester Leichtbauteile eine steigende Bedeutung zu, beispielsweise im Flugzeug- und Fahrzeugbau. Für kleine Losgrößen bietet sich hier insbesondere das Fertigungsverfahren des Drückwalzens an. Der konventionelle, industriell genutzte Drückwalzprozess stößt allerdings aufgrund der Prozesskomplexität hinsichtlich der Reproduzierbarkeit an seine Grenzen. Dies wird in der Praxis teilweise durch personengebundenes Erfahrungswissen kompensiert. Auch ist es nicht möglich, Bauteileigenschaften definiert einzustellen. Aus diesem Grund bietet der Einsatz einer neuartigen Eigenschaftsregelung Chancen zur Weiterentwicklung des Fertigungsprozesses und die Möglichkeit zur Prozessautomatisierung. Hier werden die Werkzeugbahnen abhängig einer Online-Eigenschaftsmessung über eine zusätzliche Reglerkaskade manipuliert. Die Entwicklung einer solchen Eigenschaftsregelung erfordert den Einsatz geeigneter, modellbasierter Entwurfsmethoden. In diesem Beitrag wird daher ein regelungstechnisches Systemmodell für das Drückwalzen metastabiler austenitischer Edelstähle vorgestellt. Das Simulationsmodell weist aufgrund seiner Echtzeitfähigkeit neben dem Einsatz als reines Entwurfsmodell weitere Nutzungsmöglichkeiten z.B. in Beobachtern auf und grenzt sich somit von domänenspezifischen Simulationstools wie der FEM ab.

Anomaly detection describes methods of finding abnormal states, instances or data points that differ from a normal value space. Industrial processes are a domain where predicitve models are needed for finding anomalous data instances for quality enhancement. A main challenge, however, is absence of labels in this environment. This paper contributes to a data-centric way of approaching artificial intelligence in industrial production. With a use case from additive manufacturing for automotive components we present a deep-learning-based image processing pipeline. We integrate the concept of domain randomisation and synthetic data in the loop that shows promising results for bridging advances in deep learning and its application to real-world, industrial production processes.
