We present a procedure for the parametric order reduction of explicit port-Hamiltonian systems, which extends previous results. The approach is illustrated and discussed on the example of a ladder network.

In this paper, we propose a communication network architecture for industrial applications that combines new 5G technologies with other existing communication technologies on the shop floor. This architecture connects private and public mobile networks with local networking technologies to achieve a flexible setup addressing many different industrial use cases. We show how the advancements introduced around the new 5G mobile technology can address a wide range of industrial requirements. We further describe relevant use cases and develop an overall communication system architecture proposal, which is able to fulfill not only technical requirements but also system requirements, which result from specific applications existing in today’s and future manufacturing scenarios.

In autonomous driving, prediction tasks address complex spatio-temporal data. This article describes the examination of Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) for object trajectory prediction in the image space. The proposed methods enhance the performance and spatio-temporal prediction capabilities of Recurrent Neural Networks. Two different data augmentation strategies and a hyperparameter search are implemented for this purpose. A conventional data augmentation strategy and a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) based strategy are analyzed with respect to their ability to close the generalization gap of Recurrent Neural Networks. The results are then discussed using single-object tracklets provided by the KITTI Tracking Dataset. This work demonstrates the benefits of augmenting spatio-temporal data with GANs.

Zusammenfassung Mit der Planungsadaption wird ein neuer Freiheitsgrad zur Abstimmung von Fahrerassistenzsystemen (FAS) eingeführt. Dieser beschreibt die gezielte Berücksichtigung des Fahrerwunsches bei der Bahnplanung, um die Interaktion zu verbessern. Individualisierbare Aktivierungsschranken ermöglichen eine zusätzliche Anpassung an den Fahrer.

Zusammenfassung In diesem Artikel wird erstmalig ein neuartiger fraktionaler Flussschätzer vorgestellt, der das atypische Übertragungsverhalten zwischen dem messbaren Aktorstrom und der kraftproportialen Flussdichte über eine große Bandbreite mit hoher Genauigkeit abbilden kann. Am Beispiel einer Ringkernspule wird die gesamte Vorgehensweise von der Modellbildung über dessen Approximation und Diskretisierung bis zur hardwareseitigen Implementierung nachvollzogen. Die abschließenden Messungen zeigen das große Potential einer schätzerbasierten Flussdichteregelung für hochdynamische Aktoren und Magnetlager.

Vector control can not be well applied directly to the starting of large-power induction motors. The starting current is so large as to cause damage to power-conductors and the whole control system. A novel pre-excitation control strategy is proposed in this paper. A magnetic field is built in large power motor startup firstly, in which DC pre-excitation is adopted and the rotor flux orientation is set to coincide with the center line of motor’s one phase winding. With the completion of this pre-excitation, the control strategy is switched to the vector control. The excitation subsystem and the torque subsystem in the motor can be decoupled dynamically after this pre-excitation and vector control. The experimental results show that the motor’s starting current rises smoothly and its output torque has fast response. This control strategy is capable of reducing the motor’s starting current peak and improving the safety of induction motor’s startup.

Zusammenfassung Der Digitalisierungsprozess hat durch die Initiative „Industrie 4.0“ an Bedeutung gewonnen. Eines der Kernkonzepte ist die Erstellung eines informationstechnischen Repräsentanten von Assets. Für diesen informationstechnischen Repräsentanten gibt es verschiedene Namen am Markt. Der Begriff der Verwaltungsschale wurde dafür durch die Plattform Industrie 4.0 geprägt. In den vergangen Jahren sind Dokumente und Aktivitäten um die Verwaltungsschale entstanden, die entweder Anforderungsbeschreibungen darstellen oder hinsichtlich ihres konkret umsetzbaren Gehaltes keine genügende Präzision haben. Der Beitrag leitet ausgehend vom Systembegriff und kognitionswissenschaftlichen Grundlagen die Systemarchitektur proaktiver Verwaltungsschalen ab. Diese Architektur zeigt auf, wie Verwaltungsschalen arbeiten müssten, um tatsächlich das Ziel der Industrie 4.0 verwirklichen zu können.
