Kant’s critical philosophy has had complex consequences for religion: on the one hand, Kant grounded the morality of religious premises independently while, on the other hand, still attributing the historical religions a role in the establishment of a moral "religious faith." Bernd Dörflinger shows how Kant questioned religious claims to validity, putting a purely rational moral philosophy in their place.
