Vanessa B. Gorman is Associate Professor of History and Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is the author of Miletos, the Ornament of Ionia. A History of the City to 400 B.C.E. (Michigan, 2001).
Eric W. Robinson is Assistant Professor of History and the Classics at Harvard University. He is the author of The First Democracies: Early Popular Government Outside Athens (Franz Steiner Verlag, 1997).
