Official Call: 2016 Annual Business Meeting of the American Osteopathic Association (Reprint)

To the Officers and Members of the American Osteopathic Association and the Presidents and Executive Directors of AOA Affiliates (Divisional, Specialty, and Non-Practice):

You are hereby notified that the 2016 Annual Business Meeting and House of Delegates (HOD) of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) will be held July 17, 2016, through July 24, 2016, at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Hotel.

AOA Board of Trustees Meeting

The AOA Board of Trustees (BOT) will convene for its annual business meeting the week of July 17.

If your divisional or society group is planning to have representation at the BOT annual meeting, please visit the Annual Business Meeting Web page (http://osteopathic.org/inside-aoa/events/annual-business-meeting) to download and print the representation form. This form should be completed and returned to the AOA office via e-mail to or fax to (312) 202-8317 no later than Monday, June 13, 2016.

Reports and any other items of business for the BOT Annual Business Meeting may be received at any time, but no later than Friday, May 20, 2016, to be included in the initial online posting of materials. All reports and items of business must be submitted electronically to .

The BOT meeting agenda will be available on the AOA Annual Business Meeting Web page approximately 2 weeks in advance of the meeting.

AOA House of Delegates Meeting

The HOD Committee on Credentials will begin registering delegates and alternate delegates the afternoon of Thursday, July 21, and the morning of Friday, July 22. The AOA House of Delegates (HOD) will convene its annual meeting Friday, July 22, and conclude its sessions Sunday, July 24.

Reports, resolutions, and any other items of business for the HOD meeting may be received at any time, but no later than Friday, May 20, 2016, to be included in the initial online posting. All reports, resolutions, and items of business must be submitted electronically to .

Notice

Resolutions received after Monday, June 20, 2016, will be considered late and must include an explanation of good cause for the delay. The HOD Rules & Order of Business Committee will determine whether the resolution will be considered by the HOD or deferred until the 2017 HOD meeting.

The HOD meeting agenda and materials will be posted to the AOA Annual Business Meeting Web page as it becomes available but no less than 30 days before the HOD meeting. Additionally, hotel and airfare information is available on the AOA Annual Business Meeting Web page.

The executive director of each AOA affiliate state osteopathic medical association, the executive director of each AOA-recognized affiliate osteopathic specialty college, the chair of the Council of Interns and Residents, and the chief administrative officer of the Student Osteopathic Medical Association shall certify the names of their delegates and alternate delegates to the AOA’s Chief Executive Officer at least 30 days before the HOD meeting.
