Sixteen Reflections on landscapes of voluntarism
-
and
Abstract
This book aims to draw out a research shaped by geographical perspectives and to demonstrate what this approach might bring to the work conducted within disciplines such as sociology, social policy, and political science. The conclusion reflects on the works of contributors as a means of responding to two main questions. Firstly, what do the chapters indicate about a geographical approach to voluntarism? Secondly, what does this geographically inflected research reveal about contemporary landscapes of voluntarism? The contributors have examined the nature and dynamics of organisational environments within voluntary agencies, considering the interactions between staff, volunteers, and service users in both service settings and organisational ‘back regions’.
