-
Diego Pando
Abstract
This chapter traces the history of the Argentine Association of Public Administration Studies (AAEAP), a civil society organization that was born 21 years ago due of a process of convergence of people interested in the state, administration, and public policies as a professional field. The institution is mainly oriented towards building bridges between different actors (public servants, academics, political, union leaders, and members of other civil society organizations) through multiple activities such as conferences, lectures, workshops, roundtables, publications, thematic communities, and dissemination of information in social networks, among others. All these activities are aimed at the analysis and exchange of ideas from a plural and open perspective with a focus on the state, administration, and public policies in Argentina.
The scope of this chapter is to describe in-depth the contributions of this organization to the analysis of public policies. To this end, we will look at the main activities of the AAEAP and their impact on the field of public policy. We will review the production of documents, books, and declarations produced by the association focusing on the areas, problems, and main ideas developed in the last 20 years.
