Los estudios reunidos en este volumen colectivo constituyen una muestra actual de los trabajos más recientes sobre el español de Venezuela. Lo conforman catorce capítulos que, desde diferentes marcos teóricos y metodológicos, ofrecen una visión representativa de los rasgos fonético-fonológicos, gramaticales, léxicos y pragmático-discursivos característicos del español venezolano y de las variedades que lo componen. En él se documentan, describen y analizan nuevos fenómenos lingüísticos y se revisan y amplían otros previamente analizados.
El objetivo final de la obra es que estos estudios sirvan como ejemplo de renovación teórico-práctica y exploración colectiva y multidimensional sobre el español de Venezuela.
