Crystal structure of dafone and bis[dafone]tetrachlorocobaltate(II) dihydrate
Abstract
Crystal structure of title compounds dafone (4,5-diazafluoren-9-one) and its tetrachlorocobaltate salt have been determined at room temperature by X-ray diffraction and refined to residuals R = 0.032 and 0.048 for 710 and 1173 observed reflections, respectively. In both the structures the dafone ring system is almost planar. There is a possible C–H … N interaction in the crystal structure of dafone. In the dafone-tetrachlorocobaltate structure no direct bonding is observed between the metal and the dafone ring. The protonated nitrogen in dafone ring participates in hydrogen bonding. The water molecule links the dafone with the tetrachlorocobaltate anions.
