Summary
Interoperability and componentization are the two defining characteristics of Service Oriented Architectures (SOA). From a middleware perspective this means standardized quality of service (QoS) protocols and QoS-rich service descriptions. This paper provides an architectural overview of quality of service issues in SOA environments and a review of open problems and current research directions.
Zusammenfassung
Interoperabilität und Komponentenorientierung sind zwei definierende Eigenschaften Service-orientierter Architekturen (SOA). Aus Sicht der Middleware benötigt man dazu standardisierte Unterstützung für Quality of Service (QoS) in Protokollen und Servicebeschreibungen. Dieser Beitrag gibt eine Einführung in QoS-Aspekte von SOA-Umgebungen und einen Überblick über offene Probleme und aktuelle Forschungsfragen.
