Summary
The landscape of current specifications for the description of business processes consists of the Web Services Business Process Execution Language (WS-BPEL) as an adopted standard, and a number of functional extensions allowing for human interactions (BPEL4People), sub-processes with life-cycle coupling (BPEL-SPE), and Java integration (BPELJ). Also relevant for the assembly of portable, executable applications is the Service Component Architecture (SCA) which provides a model for service-based components complementing WS-BPEL. This paper provides an overview of the current business process standards landscape and its further evolution.
Zusammenfassung
Auf der Landkarte aktueller Spezifikationen zur Beschreibung von Geschäftsprozessen finden sich neben dem verabschiedeten Standard Web Services Business Process Execution Language (WS-BPEL) eine Reihe funktionaler Erweiterungen zur Einbeziehung von Personen in Prozesse (BPEL4People), für Subprozesse mit gekoppelten Lebenszyklen (BPEL-SPE) und zur Integration mit Java (BPELJ). Ebenfalls relevant zur Erstellung portabler, lauffähiger Anwendungen ist die Service Component Architecture (SCA), ein Modell für Service-basierte Komponenten, das WS-BPEL ergänzt. Dieser Artikel gibt einen Überblick über die Landkarte aktueller Standards und deren weitere Entwicklung.
