Abstract:
The family of Mannum-mēšu-liṣṣur belongs to the wealthy and well known families from Old Babylonian Nippur. This article will trace the development of its property through the eight documented generations spanning 150 years in total (Lipit-Enlil d to Samsu-iluna 29, ca. 1871–1721 B. C.). The study is based on 30 legal documents mentioning members of the family, and thus forming the archive of Mannum-mēšu-liṣṣur. Special attention will be paid to the inheritance documents.
