Summary
This article aims to analyse the image of Montenegrin women in Italian travelogues published to mark the Savoy – Petrović marriage which took place in 1896. By comparing the observations of Italian travel writers, we seek to determine the circumstances that affected their representation and to establish how the image of women influenced the way this country was presented to Italian readers.
