Abstract
In this paper, we introduce a new type of set-valued mappings satisfying a contractive condition involving SR-functions. Then we prove a best proximity point theorem concerning the aforementioned mappings. Some new best proximity and fixed point results are obtained as consequences. An example is provided to support the theory.
