    Nicos Sifakis is Associate Professor in the School of Humanities of the Hellenic Open University (HOU) and director of its M.Ed. in TESOL programme. He holds a PhD in language and linguistics from the University of Essex, UK. He is editor-in-chief of Research Papers in Language Teaching and Learning (http://rpltl.eap.gr/). He has published extensively on intercultural communication and pedagogy, teaching and researching English as an international lingua franca, language teaching methodology, distance education, adult education and teacher education.

    and Yasemin Bayyurt

    Yasemin Bayyurt is Full Professor in the Department of Foreign Language Education at Bogazici University, Turkey. She holds a PhD in Linguistics and Modern English Language from Lancaster University, UK. Her research focuses on intercultural communication, telecollaboration, ELF/EIL-aware teacher education. She has published extensively in international refereed/indexed journals and edited books (e.g., Springer, Multilingual Matters). She has recently co-edited a book entitled Current Perspectives on Pedagogy for English as a Lingua Franca (2015) published by De Gruyter.
