Hartmut Haberland
Hartmut Haberland is Professor of German Language and the Sociolinguistics of Globalization at Roskilde University, Denmark. With Jacob Mey, he founded theJournal of Pragmatics in 1977. He is a co-editor ofPragmatics and Society and ofActa Linguistica Hafniensia . He is Director of the CALPIU Research Centre in Roskilde and has been a Senior External Research Fellow of RCLEAMS, Hong Kong, and is the leader of “An Ethnography of Language Encounters: Language and Interaction in the Globalized Corporation (Lingcorp)”. His research has been on the semantics, pragmatics, and sociolinguistics of German, Danish, English, and Greek.
