ECCE9 offers a diverse and engaging 5-day program for all target groups creating a forum to discuss new ideas, address practical challenges, find solutions, and allow new partnerships to flourish. Around 2300 people including 700 talented students are expected.
Program and mission
The motto of ECCE9 is: “ Shaping a sustainable future: a Partnership of Academia, Industry and Society”
In this sense, ECCE9 will bring together researchers, scientists, engineers, policymakers, industrial professionals & managers, entrepreneurs and students to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, innovations, and research results about all aspects of Chemical Engineering, Applied Biotechnology and Process Intensification.
The organisers quote their approach as the most comprehensive Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Congress in the history of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE). This is because the program will cover the wide range of subjects relevant to process technology, such as process intensification, renewable feed stocks, sustainable value chains, product design and biotechnology.
Plenary lectures by renowned speakers will provide overviews of different aspects of the Congress theme:
Shaping a sustainable future: a partnership of academia, industry and society.
Innovation is the catalyst for sustainable product development.
European Process Intensification Conference (EPIC)
Integrated in the European Congress of Chemical Engineering, EPIC2013 is the fourth Conference in the series of European Process Intensification Conferences that are held under the auspices of the EFCE Working Party on Process Intensification (WP PI). Process Intensification, now well recognized as one of the most important recent developments in chemical engineering, provides innovative principles and methods to enable sustainable product manufacturing.
The previous EPIC conferences were held in Copenhagen (2007), Venice (2009) and Manchester (2011). EPIC2013 provides an opportunity for academicians, industrialists and technology providers to present the latest developments on Process Intensification in the academic and industrial sphere and communicate their present views and vision for the future to the largest possible audience. This comprises also:
Publication in a special issue of the Chemical Engineering and Processing: Process Intensification Journal.
“How to teach Process Intensification” Workshop in Delft after EPIC.
Biennial EFCE Excellence Award in Process Intensification for an outstanding PhD thesis in the field of process intensification.
