Abstract
This paper presents a 5.2 GHz ultra low power folded cascade low-noise amplifier at low-voltage operation. By utilizing a forward body bias and folded cascade technique, the proposed LNA can operate at a reduced supply voltage and power consumption. In addition, reactive (transformer) feed-back is adopted to further enhance the LNA gain. The proposed LNA delivers a remarkable gain of 15.3 dB with a noise figure of 0.8 dB, while consuming only 0.8 mW dc power from a 0.6-V supply voltage at 5.2 GHz, the simulated Pin-1dB and IIP3 are −22 and −10.34 dBm, respectively. The results indicate that this LNA is full suitable for the ultra low power application.
