Nature Inspires, Chemistry Engineers
Bioinspired and Biobased Chemistry & Materials is an emerging field covering materials science, chemistry, physics and biology. It arises from the knowledge of synthesis, directed self-assembly and hierarchical organization of natural materials, and uses this understanding to engineer new artificial materials and devices for diverse applications. The 2nd International Conference on Bioinspired and Biobased Chemicals and Materials will give an overview on significant progresses in biomimetism and biobased chemicals, including a wide range of topics:
· SmartTech: Stimuli-Responsive (photochromic, thermochromic, pH-sensitive...) Materials, Interactive Materials, Autonomous Materials, Functional Polymeric Materials, Self-Healing, Biosensors, Renewable energy.
· BioTech: Bioadhesiveness/Antibioadhesiveness, Biofouling, Tissue, Membrane, Green Chemistry, Biomass, Building Blocks, Biobased Chemicals and Materials, Water Technologies, Bio Sources for Fuels, Bioengineering, Biomanufacturing.
· NanoTech: Adhesive/Antiadhesive Materials, Fluorinated Materials, Mineralization, Nanocomposites, Nanomanufacturing, Nanostructured Materials and Devices, Polymer Nanotechnology, Micro and nanofluidics.
The purpose of the conference is to bring together and create a cohesive community of scientists, engineers and managers from different backgrounds in order to promote new ideas and disseminate technical information in the emerging field of Bioinspired and Biobased Chemistry & Materials.
