  Alan Šerman graduated from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, Croatia, in 1992, and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Zagreb in 1999. In 2009 he received his PhD from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science, in the field of epigenetics of reproduction. Since 2007, he has been Head of the Division of Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University Hospital “Sveti Duh”, Zagreb, Croatia.

  Filip Simon is a medical student at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, Croatia. For the last two years he has actively participated in research work at the Department of Medical Biology, University of Zagreb School of Medicine.

  Dora Fabijanović graduated from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, Croatia, in 2012. From 2008 she has participated in research work at the Department of Medical Biology, University of Zagreb School of Medicine. In 2008 she received the Rector’s Award for the excellent student thesis. From 2008 she has been Student Assistant for Practical Courses in Biology, and from 2010 Student Assistant for the course Introduction to Clinical Medicine, both at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine.

  Ljiljana Šerman graduated from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, Croatia, in 1992. In 2005 she received her PhD from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science. She is Professor of Medical Biology at the Department of Medical Biology, University of Zagreb School of Medicine. Her field of scientific interest is differentiation and proliferation of trophoblast cells. She is also active in promotion and development of students’ research work.
