»Ne ressassez plus les choses d'autrefois«. Esaïe 43,16–21, un surprenant regard deutéro-ésaïen sur le passé

Contrary to a common opinion, this analysis of Isaiah 43,16–21 shows that this text does not belong to the earlier kernel of Second Isaiah but constitutes a late redactional reworking of it. 43,16–17 reinterprets the narrative and poetic parts of Exodus 14–15; verses 18–19a do the same with the motif of Israel's culpability presented as the »former things«. Finally, 43,19b–21 exhibits a synthesis of some theological motifs of Second and Third Isaiah. The text with the greatest number of similarities to 43,16–21 is Isa 65,16–25, an eschatological text.
Contrairement à une opinion largement répandue, cette analyse d'Es 43,16–21 argue que ce passage n'appartient pas au noyau originel du Deutéro-Esaïe, mais en constitue une relecture tardive. Alors que 43,16–17 réinterprète récits et poème d'Ex 14 et 15, Es 43,18–19a fait de même avec le thème de la culpabilité d'Israël présentée comme les »choses d'autrefois «. Finalement 43,19b–21 présente une synthèse de plusieurs motifs théologiques présents dans les Deutéro- et Trito-Esaïe. Le texte présentant le plus de similitudes avec 43,16–21 est le passage eschatologisant d'Es 65,16–21.
Gegen eine weit verbreitete Meinung soll aufgezeigt werden, dass der Abschnitt Jes 43,16–21 nicht zum Grundbestand des Deutero-Jesaja gehört, sondern eine späte Bearbeitung darstellt. Jes 43,16–17 ist als eine Interpretation der Erzählung von Ex 14 und des in Ex 15 vorliegenden Psalms zu verstehen; Ex 43,18–19a interpretiert Israels Schuld als »Früheres/Vorheriges«. Jes 43,19b–21 ist eine Synthese verschiedener theologischer Motive, die Deutero- und Trito-Jesaja charakterisieren. Der mit Jes 43,16–21 am stärksten verwandte Text findet sich in Jes 65,16–21, einem eschatologischen Abschnitt.
