Abstract
This paper describes the iron saturation of ferritin haemochromatosis patients during phlebotomy therapy. The iron saturation of ferritin does not change during therapy and cannot be used as a parameter follow therapy. Furthermore, the iron saturation seems to be a constant characteristic of a given person. It does not vary with the body iron stores in patients with haemochromatosis.
