Der Mensch als Selbstaufgabe. Psychologie Gregors von Nyssa in de Perfectione auf dem Hintergrund der Seelenlehre Platos

Abstract
Die neuste Ausgabe von Beierwaltes' grundlegender Studie zur Frage nach dem Verhältnis von Platonismus und Christentum, die die Forschungsdebatte seit Harnacks These von einer im zweiten Jahrhundert erfolgten Hellenisierung des Christentums beschäftigt, intendiert bereits in der Formulierung des Titels eine differenzierte Sicht ihres Untersuchungsgegenstands, wobei das Anliegen dann in der Einleitung ausführlich verdeutlicht wird: Die Absicht der Untersuchung ist es, einer unangemessenen Vereinfachung eines komplexen Sachverhaltes durch eine detaillierte Erörterung der Bedeutung der platonischen Denkformen bei den christlichen Theologen entgegenzuwirken. Dieser Zielsetzung wird die überzeugende Abhandlung von Beierwaltes gerecht, indem sie die Bandbreite und Facettenfülle der geistigen Anleihen der christlichen Theologen beim platonischen Geistesgut aufzeigt und erörtert.
