Katharina de Andrade Ruiz arbeitet als freie Kunsthistorikerin, Kritikerin sowie Produktionsleiterin für Tanz- und Kunstprojekte in Hamburg. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Gegenwartskunst und zeitgenössischer Tanz im Kontext der bildenden Kunst. Sie promovierte am Kunstgeschichtlichen Institut der Universität Freiburg und war dort zugleich als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin tätig.
