Die Beiträge international renommierter KunsthistorikerInnen fokussieren jeweils spezifische Regionen und künstlerische Praxen, die in globalen und transkulturellen Zusammenhängen differenziert betrachtet werden. Es geht um Standortbestimmungen, theoretische Fundierungen und methodische Klärungen – und nicht zuletzt darum, wie Kunstgeschichten außerhalb euro-amerikanischer Kontexte gedacht und geschrieben werden.

Monika Leisch-Kiesl (Univ.-Prof.in DDr.in), geb. 1960, lehrt Kunstwissenschaft und Ästhetik an der Fakultät für Philosophie und für Kunstwissenschaft der Katholischen Privat-Universität Linz. Ihr Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt unter anderem auf Diskursfeldern zeitgenössischer Kunst in inter- und transkulturellen Kontexten. Neben regelmäßigen Forschungsaufenthalten in Basel und Krakau engagiert sich die Kunstwissenschaftlerin und Philosophin in kuratorischen Projekten.
