In the seventh volume of his Shakespeare translation, C. M. Wieland presents three of the bard’s most famous plays. The volume opens with the two tragedies Romeo and Juliet and Othello: The Merchant of Venice. It ends with the comedy As You Like It, whose subplots Wieland substantially reduces. For all three plays, the originals from William Warburton’s The Works of Shakespeare are included side-by-side for comparison.
