About this book
The attachment theory of English physician and psychoanalyst John Bowlby (1907–1990) shaped societal ideas of a good childhood and is currently finding great resonance in psychoanalytical practice. This volume examines the genesis of his theory from the 1920s and its reception and transformation in the second half of the twentieth century, in particular in Great Britain and the Federal Republic of Germany.
