The book takes you on a journey into you microscopic inner world. It is devides into three parts: "What we can't see. The invisible life of microbes", "War and peace in ourselves. How we survive everday" and "The language of life. DNA, RNA". They explore our microbiom, immune system and our genes. It covers microscopic components, their interaction, their discovery and investigation.

Author / Editor information

Dr. Diana Kessler hat in Heidelberg Zahnmedizin studiert und auch dort promoviert. Sie ist seit 1991 im Stadtteil Käfertal in Mannheim als Zahnärztin tätig. Das Thema der Zusammenhänge zwischen Mund- und Allgemeingesundheit beschäftigt sie schon seit ihrer Studienzeit, später folgten zahlreiche Vorträge dazu und eine Veröffentlichung in „Diabetes aktuell“ (Thieme-Verlag). Seit 2001 beteiligt sie sich an der Organisation von Fortbildungen für zahnärztliche und ärztliche Kolleginnen und Kollegen und ist aktuell Fortbildungsreferentin des Vereins ZfZ (Zahnärzte für Zahnärzte) Heidelberg. Sie ist seit 2012 außerdem Teil des Teams der Diabetes-Tagesklinik des St. Josefskrankenhauses. Die Autorin ist Mutter von zwei erwachsenen Kindern und lebt mit ihrem Mann in Heidelberg.
