What makes conspiracy films about September 11 so successful? How are they distributed? What characterizes their rhetoric? This study examines the rhetoric of six selected documentaries. Engaging with their online presence and audiovisual design reveals that the films win their audiences over not despite but because of the oppositional claims they make to truth.
