Spuren zum Diskurs: Gendermarkierungen in inkriminierten Texten

Abstract
This article examines the usage of gender-inclusive variants within the national database of incriminating texts at the German federal police office (BKA), also discussing the metalinguistic treatment of these forms in public discourse. Usage preferences in our corpus are compared to those that have been determined for other genres in previous studies. The aim is to make statements about the typicality of certain variants in specific contexts and on this basis, to draw conclusions about attitudes and discursive affiliations of writers by incorporating discourse-linguistic insights. Therefore, this article also is a plea for a stronger inclusion of discourse-linguistic questions in forensic authorship analyses, while also opening up possible new perspectives for discourse linguistics.
