Evolution of Management Practice
This chapter is in the book Evolution of Management Practice

Abstract

In this chapter, we cover ways in which leaders manage technology and evaluate vendors for how technology needs for our organizations have changed. Because of recent changes in globalization, risk management, disaster recovery, technological breakthroughs, and organizational cultural shifts, leaders must understand their technology portfolios and information governance plans to adapt strategies in addressing fast-changing industries. We outline as a response to these changes a practical assessment of a comprehensive technology portfolio, assessments of technology upgrade scheduling, and considerations for in-house vs. third-party vendor solution vetting.
