Abstract

There are many opportunities for the application of artificial intelligence in various areas of production processes and production decisions, including product design, production system design, production planning, quality control, maintenance planning, and supply chain management. Despite the benefits and opportunities that artificial intelligence applications provide to companies, the rate of adoption of artificial intelligence applications in production processes and production decisions of companies is not at the desired level due to financial, organizational, and technical factors. This research aims to analyze the levels of artificial intelligence applications in production processes and production decisions of companies in Turkey. Within the scope of the research, the challenges that companies face in artificial intelligence applications in production processes and the highest potential applications of artificial intelligence in production processes and production decisions were analyzed. How company size, R&D budget designation, and Industry 4.0 level of the company affect artificial intelligence applications in production processes and production decisions have also been analyzed. Questionnaire forms were sent to approximately 500 companies, and survey forms were returned from 74 companies.
