Abstract

The Letters of Alciphron most frequently seem to be situated in a vague time. This time is specific to Alciphron. It is made of short moments where brief historical allusions may appear. This time is fit for references to timeless myths. It is also a literary time which is built upon references to characters, stories and texts of Greek literature. This time of Alciphron is an original work of art which reveals the inner universe of his author.
