About this book

Information und Sprache contains contributions from well-known authors from the field of information science, computer linguistics, communication science, librarianship and related disciplines. It contains articles dealing on the one hand with current theoretical topics such as media theories and the Internet, the relationship of information to cultural memory, and information in museums. On the other, the contributions demonstrate practical usage such as automated indexing or knowledge representation.

This Festschrift is dedicated to Professor Harald. H. Zimmermann. The final chapter focuses on his commitment to the field of language, information and literature both regionally in Saarland and Europe as a whole, and acknowledges his scientific work in the development of computer linguistics and information science over the last 40 years.
