About this book
The Didaskalikos, written by the Middle Platonist philosopher Alcinous in the 2nd century AD, is one of the few fully extant Platonist works prior to Plotinus and Neo-Platonism. This edition of the text, which is complemented by the first ever German translation, includes an introduction and bibliography, while notes on the text explain philosophical aspects and philological details and draw attention to important passages and their sources. The volume is of particular interest to philosophers, philologists and theologians.
