Issues in the Dating of Saqqara Papyri

Abstract
The aims of this paper are to clarify the issues that surround the dating of Saqqara papyri, and to suggest some ways forward. The present writer first attempted to investigate these questions many years ago - in the 1970s - and has returned to them many times over. It may now be useful to make them as explicit as possible, and to submit them to the scrutiny of colleagues.
