Wer ist der „gute Europäer“? – Aus der Perspektive der japanischen Nietzsche-Forschungsgeschichte

  • Tsunafumi Takeuchi

Abstract

The ways in which non-Europeans engage Nietzsche’s European and Supra-European thinking prompts Tsunafumi Takeuchi to investigate whether they are nonetheless addressed by Nietzsche’s diagnosis of European nihilism and the attribution of “good Europeans”. After a discussion of the two main types of interpretation in Japanese research, Takeuchi presents an alternative by transferring structural and nihilistic elements to non-European contexts. He argues both that the explanatory potential of cultural crises and the positive challenging of concepts such as the overcoming of nations, the related plurality of good Europeans offer possibilities for the adoption of such principles outside of Europe.
