About this book

The volume examines political communications during the conflict between Erik of Pomerania and the cities of Lübeck, Hamburg, Atralsund, Rostock, Wismar, and Lüneburg (1423–1435). Using a historical analysis of the archival records, the author examines three complexes of communication: the development and impact of an alliance agreement (Tosate) in 1423, the unsuccessful peace mission in 1427–1428, and the negotiations between 1428 and 1434.

Reviews

"L’ouvrage apporte donc une contribution très substantielle aux réflexions développées actuellement sur les pratiques et la rationalité de l’écrit dans les relations politiques."
Stéphane Péquignot in: Revue de l'IFHA (18.04.2019), http://journals.openedition.org/ifha/10037
