Through his daring and innovative photography, Borradaile, whom Raymond Massey called "the greatest exterior camera artist in the world," enhanced the work of such major filmmakers as Cecil B. De Mille, Alexander Korda, Robert Flaherty, Alfred Hitchcock, Michael Powell, and Otto Preminger.
