About this journal

Open Transport (OT) was launched in 2025, alongside its sibling journal Transport Phenomena (TP), to serve as a leading general science venue dedicated to advancing the understanding of flow, heat, and diffusion, and their complex interplay in all states of matter—solid, liquid, or gas.

Both journals share an identical scientific scope, editorial team, and editorial standards, differing only in their publishing models.

Aims and Scope

Open Transport serves the global transport phenomena community as its leading general science open access title, showcasing the latest advances in mass transfer, heat transfer and fluid dynamics.

With enthusiasm, Open Transport publishes intriguing, elegant, fascinating and important advances in and between these three cognate transport sciences.

Rooted respectively in the conservation principles of mass, energy an d mome ntum, Open Transport attracts contributions from all subdisciplines of the physical and biological sciences, applied mathematics and thus, from all branches of engineering.

Open Transport deepens our understanding across the transport phenomena sciences and advances its applications. Open Transport conducts rigorous and fair peer-review and aims to attract original, tenure accruing contributions, through which the journal endeavors to bring out the very best in the transport community.

Open Transport is an open access journal. All contributions submitted for publication in Open Transport are single-blind peer reviewed. The publication language is English. The publication frequency is continuously.
