The Göttingen Academy of Sciences is one of the most venerable institutions of its kind, bringing together scholars from a wide variety of disciplines. The yearbook traces the development of the Academy over one year of operations. Apart from the Annual Report, details of awards and a register of members, the yearbook is particularly concerned to present the Academy’s various research projects and make selected Academy Lectures publicly available.
With its yearbook, the “Göttinger Akademie der Wissenschaften” (Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities) presents an overview of its activities in 2009. The yearbook contains the report of the president and the results of 23 long-term research projects as well as information on future projects of the Academy.
The yearbook’s 23 articles from various fields of the humanities and sciences include a lecture on the language of law by Paul Kirchhof and an article by Christian Meier on the topic “Victors or the Vanquished: Who Writes History?”
