About this journal
The European Property Law Journal (EPLJ) offers a publication platform for research on property in the widest sense. Including, but not limited to, the EPLJ publishes research on issues relating to land, movables, claims, data, IP, AI, energy, environment, and migration. Articles are based on comparative, European and global perspectives and often are based on theoretical, doctrinal, historical, economic intra- and interdisciplinary methods. This includes for example work using empirical, ethnographic, geographic, sociological, economic, and historical methods.
The EPLJ adheres to a double-blind peer review process to decide on publication and welcomes submissions from authors from all over the world. The Editors of the European Property Law Journal uphold the quality of the journal. The peer review process is carried out by experts who are independent from the journal’s Editorial Board and free from conflicts of interest.

Special issues and special issue section
European Property Law Journal publishes special and thematic issues focused on important and emerging topics in the field of study. Ideas for special issues are proposed by the journal’s editorial board, but EPLJ also considers proposals for special issues submitted by members of the wider research community. Hybrid Open Access
In this journal, authors have the option to publish their article under an open access license. Open Access allows you as an author to retain copyright and share your findings with colleagues and interested parties worldwide without any restraints.
Please note that authors from institutions with which we have a transformative agreement can publish ope n access without paying an article processing charge (APC). More information on the eligible institutions and articles can be found under the "Funding and Support" tab here.
EPLJ follows tier 2 of our data sharing policy. Authors are encouraged to provide a data availability statement where applicable. Please refer to the Data Sharing Policy for guidance on how to write a data availability statement.
