About this book

Encyclopedia with 816 alphabetically arranged subject entries. It describes the physico-chemical properties, performance, sensitivity, GHS and REACH classification of 477 common metals, non-metals and compounds that are used as explosives, oxidizers, fuels, binders and additives, as well as the thermochemical properties of 446 pure substances that can occur as reaction products. The encyclopaedia also provides information on the composition, performance and sensitivity of almost 300 explosives and propellants formulations and around 200 pyrotechnic compositions. In addition, civil and military applications for explosives, their chemical and physical principles, test methods, institutions and, finally, persons who have made an international contribution to the development and investigation of explosives are described. Nearly 200 illustrations, 90 of them in colour, 218 tables, 312 structural formulas, nearly 1900 references to primary literature, 1800 entries in the subject index and the English translation of all subjectentries make the book an indispensable standard work for all readers concerned with explosives, propellants, pyrotechnic compositions, fireworks and ammunition.
The encyclopaedia is suitable for specialist training when starting out in the profession, as well as for further training in everyday use.

Provides over 1600 primary literature references for further direct study and a specialist literature section (~150 monographs) for the general study of selected areas.

Unrivaled comprehensive and versatile encyclopedia on the subject in German.
