The gulag report by Jewish Polish union lawyer Jerzy Gliksman covering the years 1939–1941 is one of the most significant pieces of Jewish testimony from the Soviet labor camp system. This document of Soviet terror is now being published for the first time in German, accompanied by two introductory texts providing context. In 1949, Gliksman testified at the UN and became a professor at Harvard as an expert on the USSR.
