Hardening Distortions Related to Segregations in Crown Wheels

Abstract

The back-face tilt of press-hardened crown wheels is investigated for continuous and ingot cast material. Two different geometries are studied, one with a flat back-face and one with a step. For two ingots, the original material position is tracked and coupled to back-face tilt, cross section hardness and chemical segregation. The chemical gradients are shifted from top to bottom of the ingot and are strongly coupled to the back-face tilt.

Kurzfassung

Die Neigung der Rückseite von pressgehärteten Tellerrädern wird für Werkstücke aus Strang- und Blockgussmaterial untersucht. Dabei werden die Ergebnisse für zwei unterschiedliche Geometrien berücksichtigt, eine mit flacher sowie eine mit gestufter Rückseite. Für zwei Teile aus Blockgussmaterial wird die Originalposition des Materials verfolgt und mit der Neigung der Rückseite, der Härte im Querschnitt sowie der chemischen Seigerung ins Verhältnis gesetzt. Die chemischen Gradienten des Blockgusses werden von oben nach unten gewendet und stehen in engem Zusammenhang mit der Neigung der Rückseite.
