Edward Annand Corbett (1887-1964) graduated from McGill University, served overseas in World War I, and then joined the staff of the University of Alberta. He became the Director of its Department of Extension (1928-1936) and then served as Director of the Canadian Association for Adult Education (1936-1951). He is the author, among other books, of a biography of another leading figure in Canadian education, Henry Marshall Tory.
