The Canada-United States border crossings provide an economic gateway between the two countries. Local concerns for border security enhancements are not always a paramount consideration. This study considered local residents' preferences and attitudes towards border security enhancements on the Canadian side at the Blue Water Bridge between Ontario and Michigan. A choice experiment method, enhanced by stakeholder feedback and supplementary media reports, was used to better understand local values and preferences for border security enhancements.
